Toyota Recalls Minivans and PickupsAugust 2005 Faulty Seatbelts in Sienna Minivans Parents, are your children's seat belts giving you problems? The problem may be your vehicle if you are the owner of a Toyota Sienna minivan. Toyota Motor Co. is recalling 345,000 of their 2004 and 2005 Sienna minivans due to defects with seat belts in some seating positions. According to Toyota, the shoulder portion of the seat belt in middle row seats have the tendency to get stuck, making it difficult to put on and off. The problem affects the right side chair in the middle row of the seven-passenger model and the center seat in the second row of the eight-passenger model. Toyota Motor Co. is contacting owners about the problem. Owners should take their minivans to their dealer for free replacement seat belt pieces.
Tundra Pickup Problems The recalls don’t stop with the Sienna. Toyota Motor Co. is also recalling 2,500 of their 2005 Tundra Access Cab pickup trucks. The wrong lens was installed over the air bag light, making it impossible to tell whether it is activated. Owners will be contacted sometime in mid-August and the upgrade will be done at no charge.
