Mazda Recalls 2,000 VehiclesOctober 2005 The 2006 Mazda5 crossover is so hot, literally, it’s on fire. Mazda Motor Corp. halted production and stopped selling the minivan after reports that heat buildup in the exhaust system may start fires. Mazda recalled 2,000 of the previously sold Mazda5 vehicles and asked dealers to halt selling 700 more vehicles already on the lots. Reports of fires near the left rear bumper spurred the recall.
