GM, Ford and Hyundai Vehicles Recalled

804,000 GM pickups, SUVS recalled

General Motors Corp. recalled more than 804,000 pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. The vehicles could have antilock brake malfunctions, increasing the stopping distances during low-speed braking and increasing the likelihood of a crash.

Affected vehicles recalled from the 1999-2002 model years include:

• Chevrolet Avalanche
• Chevrolet Silverado
• Chevrolet Suburban SUV
• Chevrolet Tahoe SUV
• GMC Sierra pickup
• GMC Yukon SUV
• GMC Yukon XL SUV

Owners of recalled pickups and SUVs should contact Chevy at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC at 1-800-462-8782.

36,000 Sonatas Recalled

Hyundai Motor Co. also recalled 36,000 of its 2006 model year Sonata cars. The front seat belts may interfere with the manual seat back recliner knob resulting in unexpected release of the front seat recliner. This malfunction could cause injury to passengers.

Ford Recalls Land Rovers

In addition, Ford Motor Co. recalled 17,263 Land Rover LR3 SUVs because of potentially defective fuel tanks. The vehicles affected are from the 2005 model year.
